  2.                                  Anthony Joseph (A.J.) 
  3.                                  Foyt, Junior, grew up to 
  4.                                  become one of the 
  5.                                  greatest auto racers in 
  6. history. He began racing midget cars at 11.
  7. As a teenager, he worked in the family garage.
  8.  
  9. A.J. was a champion in many types of racing 
  10. cars. He was the first driver to win the 
  11. Indianapolis 500 four times, and was Indy 
  12. car champion for a record seven times. In
  13. 1972, he also won the Daytona 500, con-
  14. sidered the biggest event for stock-car racers.
  15. In Grand Prix sports cars, he teamed with 
  16. Dan Gurney to win the tough 24 Hours of
  17. LeMans, in 1967. HeΓÇÖs the only driver to 
  18. win all three of those big races.
